General Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions, along with the Vidu Terms of Service, the Vidu Privacy Policy, and the rules set forth on relevant pages, collectively form the complete legal framework governing the event (the “Event”) organized by Vidu and its affiliates. By participating in the Event, participants are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all applicable terms and policies and commit to full compliance with their provisions.
General Rules
- Originality and Authorization. All individuals participating in the Event organized by Vidu platform and its affiliates (collectively, the “Platform”) are required to ensure that their submissions (the “Works”) are original creations or that they have obtained all necessary permissions and licenses from the relevant rights holders. If the Platform determines that any Work constitutes unauthorized reproduction, plagiarism, or any other form of infringement, the Platform reserves the right to disqualify the submitting individual (“Participant”) from the Event.
- Use of Works for Promotional Purposes. Outstanding Works submitted during the Event may be showcased across various online channels operated by the Platform. By participating in the Event, Participants authorize the Platform to use their Works for promotional, display, recommendation, and other related purposes necessary for the Event. All such uses are subject to prior review and approval by the Platform to ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations. Participants must ensure that their Works comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and the Platform’s policies. Works must not contain obscene, vulgar, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content, nor violate public order or ethical standards. Participants are prohibited from exploiting loopholes, submitting irrelevant or malicious content, or manipulating metrics (e.g., through fake engagement) to gain an unfair advantage in the Event. Violations may result in disqualification, revocation of rewards, recovery of issued incentives, or legal action at the discretion of the Platform.
- Acknowledgment of Terms. By participating in the Event, Participants acknowledge and agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth in this Event Statement.
Intellectual Property Rights
- License and Authorization. By submitting Works for participation in the Event, Participants grant the Platform a license to use, reproduce, adapt, and distribute their Works through the internet and other platforms for purposes directly or indirectly related to the Event. This license is granted only if the Participant wins an award, and includes the right to display the Works, make modifications, compilations, or derivative uses necessary for promotional or functional purposes associated with the Platform. The Platform will not display any Works unless the Participant has provided this authorization post-award. The license granted is perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and worldwide.
- Promotional Usage and Branding. Works submitted for the Event may, at the Platform’s discretion, be featured on event-specific pages, social media accounts, or other promotional channels operated by the Platform. Participants further authorize the Platform to use their account names, avatars, and other publicly visible profile elements for promotional purposes. The Platform reserves the right to add its branding, trademarks, or event-related identifiers to the Works in connection with its promotional campaigns.
- Warranty of Ownership and Non-Infringement. Participants warrant that they own all rights in and to their Works, including all associated elements, or that they have secured lawful authorization for their use. Works must not violate any applicable laws, infringe on third-party intellectual property rights, or conflict with the Platform’s terms of service or other policies. Participants shall bear full responsibility for any claims, damages, or losses arising from their failure to adhere to these requirements. The Platform reserves the right to revoke participation and seek indemnification for any resultant losses.
